How to Setup a New Site with DreamWeaver 4.0 (PC) for FTP Access.
- Start Dreamweaver, click on the Site menu, and select Define
Sites
- The Define Sites window will open. click New

- Click on the Local Info tab.
- Site Name: Give your project a name. (This can be
anything you want, we suggest using your site's name)
- Local Root Folder: Locate the directory on your
local computer where your web site files are located. You
may also create a new folder at this time where your site files will
be located in the future.

- Click on the Remote Info tab. From the Access
dropdown menu, select FTP
- Several fields will appear that need to be filled out with your account
information.
FTP Host: This will be in the format ftp.your-domain.com
, where your-domain.com is your actual web site domain name. ( e.g.
ftp.tangohosting.com )
Host Directory: your-domain.com/www/, where your-domain.com
is your actual web site domain name. ( e.g. tangohosting.com/www/
)
Login: This is the Login Name assigned to you by
Tango Hosting.
Password: This is the Password assigned to you by Tango
Hosting or the one that you designated in your Tango Hosting Control
Panel.
Please leave all other fields blank or in their default state.
- Select OK
- Now you are ready to upload your files. Please use the image below
for the following instructions.
- First, select your web site from the Site dropdown
list (item #1)
- Next, click the Connect button (item #2). This will
connect Dreamweaver to your server.
- Next, select the files that you wish to upload in the window located
on the right hand side of your screen. Click the blue arrow (item #3)
and your files will begin uploading to your server. Use the green arrow
(item #4) if you wish to download files from your server to your local
computer.
- That's it!
